I am so excited to be here at Lovejoy Elementary. I am a retired teacher. I taught and delivered dyslexia therapy for thirty-two years. I started out as a second grade teacher in Katy ISD outside Houston. I taught there for twenty-seven years, nineteen of those years as a classroom teacher and then I became a dyslexia specialist and reading intervention teacher. In 2004 we moved to Allen where I delivered dyslexia therapy at Ford Middle School for the last five years of my full-time career. I retired in 2009. I have done various things with Allen ISD during these retired years, testing and delivering dyslexia therapy to secondary students in summer school. A year and a half ago I was contacted by Lovejoy ISD to deliver dyslexia therapy at Puster Elementary and this year I was transferred here at LES. I also provide private tutoring. I love dyslexia therapy. It is a true joy to see students progress and improve as they continue in therapy. I couldn’t ask for better students than I have this year. We have settled in nicely to a routine and are getting to know each other.
On a personal note, I have been widowed for twelve years. I have two precious children, a daughter and son, two wonderful in-law children, two fabulous grandsons and an adorable granddaughter. I live in Fairview so I might see you out shopping someday.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
