Teaching first grade is one of the greatest blessings of my life!! This is my eighth year to teach first grade at Lovejoy Elementary--in those years I have been able to experience daily the wonder of the world through the eyes of 6 year olds. I consider it a huge privilege and responsibility to spend my hours encouraging young minds to keep on wondering. 

I feel strongly that young children first need to feel loved and accepted to be able to flourish as learners.  I also believe that learning should be fun!  My prayer is that my students will look back on their first grade year with joy knowing they were challenged but feeling secure and appreciated.   

My family and I have lived in Fairview for over 14 years.  I am the proud mom of two children.  They have spent their entire school years at Lovejoy so I have a great appreciation for our school district.  When I'm not teaching I spend lots of time taking my kids to cross country meets, tennis tournaments, softball tournaments, basketball games, etc. etc.  I thoroughly enjoy every minute of it.
